Earthdogs
Miniature Wire Haired Dachshunds, Grand Ch Tarrangower Tyzack S.E. and Ch Tarrangower Tydides E.I.C., took great enjoyment in unleashing their hereditary instinct for underground vermin hunting at earthdog tests. Owner / breeder Douglas McKay is a Life Member of the Dachshund Club of NSW Inc and co-ordinated the Club's first 19 earthdog tests.
In NSW, earthdog tests are held during the winter months at the Terrier Den at the Bill Spillstead Complex for Canine Affairs at Orchard Hills. The Dogs NSW Earthdog Working Party organizes a training day at the commencement of the season which extends from April to October.
